Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. *Re: Trending Video on Facebook Showing Police Officers Mishandling a Civilian*


1. The Abia State Police Command is aware of a trending video on Facebook depicting some police officers manhandling a civilian. The incident is alleged to have occurred along Lagos Street, Umuahia on 20/02/2025


2. The officers involved have been identified, and are currently under interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).


3. The public will be updated after necessary administrative actions are taken against the erring officers.


4. The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, strongly condemns this act of unprofessional misconduct and incivility toward members of the public. He reiterates that under his leadership, the command is committed to ensuring a professionally competent, Rule of law complaint, and people-friendly police force in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police.


5. The public is hereby advised to report any misconduct, unprofessional behavior, or incivility by officers of the command to the Complaint Response Unit via 09031593827, 09035401645.
