 HERDSMEN KILL DRIVER ON HUMANITARIAN MISSION IN TARABA STATE  10th January, 2026      A commercial driver, Mr. Amishe Omeny, has been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen while on a humanitarian visit to a displaced community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. The deceased, from Tse Amise after Tseem, was reportedly attacked on Friday within Chanchanji Ward as he travelled to Adokia, a displaced settlement located after Tseem Sabe. He was said to have gone to the area to assist villagers with the transportation of foodstuffs. Sources in the community told Benue Info-pedia, that Omeny volunteered his services as a driver to support residents affected by ongoing insecurity, when he was ambushed and killed by the assailants. The killing has sparked grief and outrage among residents, who described the incident as tragic and senseless.  Rep Jaji denies warning Ganduje, El-Rufai over 2027 election


A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, Sani Jami has debunked reports that he is no longer a member of the party.

He stated that nobody has the constitutional right to expel him from the party apart from the national headquarters.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Jaji lamented that he was mischievously quoted to have warned APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, over the 2027 election.

The statement read, “It has come to the notice of the honourable member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Kaura Namoda-Birnin Magaji federal constituency, Hon. Dr Aminu Sani Jaji, that some mischief-makers had initiated another campaign of calumny aimed at tarnishing my hard-earned reputation in the name of politics.

“A media link attributed to an online news platform dated 14th day of February 2025 where the lawmaker was mischievously quoted to have warned the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and former Governor of Kaduna Malam Nasir El-Rufai over 2027 elections.

“For the record to be clear, I have neither spoken to any media nor written any statements related to the subject and as such, the publication is a clear handiwork of the devilish politicians who do not mean well for the ruling APC.

“Such a statement cannot come from an experienced politician like Jaji who committed his resources energy and time since the beginning of the process of forming the party APC in 2013 to date and will always remain a true servant to the APC project at all time.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
