 LAWMA Waste, Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement operatives on night duty have apprehended two environmental offenders along the Jibowu and Ojota corridors of Ikorodu Road for engaging in illegal waste collection and indiscriminate disposal of refuse at unauthorized locations. The suspects, were arrested during routine surveillance operations after being found carrying out activities that constitute environmental nuisance and undermine approved waste management processes, despite repeated warnings and sensitization efforts. The offenders are being transferred to the Oshodi Task Force Office for prosecution through the Mobile Court in accordance with the environmental protection laws of Lagos State. LAWMA reiterates that illegal waste collection and indiscriminate dumping remain punishable offences.  Giyani Man Released on Bail After Brutal Zebra Killing; Second Suspect Still at Large


A man accused of hacking a zebra to death in Giyani has been released on R1,000 bail following his first court appearance.


The shocking incident, captured on video, shows two individuals using an axe to repeatedly strike the helpless animal’s head while it was trapped in a wire fence. The footage has sparked outrage among animal rights organizations and the public.


The National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) is actively pursuing the arrest of a second suspect, who is believed to be residing in another province. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to bring all those responsible to justice.
