 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  Taiwan Detains Chinese Ship Captain Over Undersea Cable Damage


Taiwanese authorities have detained the captain of a Chinese cargo vessel accused of severing a subsea telecom cable off the island, a court announced on Thursday.


The Togolese-registered ship Hongtai was intercepted by Taiwan’s coast guard on Tuesday after a crucial undersea cable connecting Taiwan’s Penghu island group was cut. The vessel, flagged under a convenience registry, had a crew of eight Chinese nationals and was reportedly backed by Chinese funding.


The Tainan District Court ordered the detention of the captain, identified by his surname Wang, citing him as a flight risk.
