 KADIRS Warns Residents Against Fake Revenue Collectors, Introduces E-Demand Notice As Sole Payment Authorization The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has cautioned taxpayers and residents of Kaduna State against making revenue payments without first obtaining an official E-Demand Notice (Pay Advice), warning that fraudsters may exploit outdated payment processes to defraud the public. In a public announcement issued on Thursday, KADIRS said the move forms part of its ongoing efforts to automate revenue collection and enhance transparency across the state.  The agency disclosed that manual demand notices previously used for Local Government revenue collection have been phased out and are no longer recognized. According to KADIRS, the E-Demand Notice (Pay Advice) has officially replaced the former Local Government Harmonized Demand Notice and is now the only valid document for on-the-spot taxpayer assessment through the state's Central Billing System.  Taiwan Detains Chinese Ship Captain Over Undersea Cable Damage


Taiwanese authorities have detained the captain of a Chinese cargo vessel accused of severing a subsea telecom cable off the island, a court announced on Thursday.


The Togolese-registered ship Hongtai was intercepted by Taiwan’s coast guard on Tuesday after a crucial undersea cable connecting Taiwan’s Penghu island group was cut. The vessel, flagged under a convenience registry, had a crew of eight Chinese nationals and was reportedly backed by Chinese funding.


The Tainan District Court ordered the detention of the captain, identified by his surname Wang, citing him as a flight risk.
