The American publication, renowned for its coverage of music, politics, and pop culture, announced Rema as the cover star for its April 2025 edition. Mavin Records celebrated the achievement on Instagram, calling him the “Afrobeats Visionary.” Following the announcement, Rema delivered an electrifying performance at the Rolling Stone concert, thrilling audiences with hits like Dumebi, Woman, and Calm Down. This milestone further solidifies Rema’s influence in global music, coming shortly after his feature on Dazed magazine. Nigerian music sensation Tems has reached another historic milestone, earning seven RIAA-certified songs in the United States with a combined 11 million units sold.

This achievement further solidifies her global dominance and influence in the music industry.

Her hit single “Me & U” has been certified Gold, while “Found” featuring Brent Faiyaz and “MOVE” with Beyoncé and Grace Jones have also attained Gold status.

“Higher” has been certified Platinum, while the fan-favourite “Free Mind” has gone 2× Platinum.

Her collaboration with Future and Drake on “WAIT FOR U” has soared to 3× Platinum, while “Essence”, her global smash hit with Wizkid, leads the pack with 4× Platinum certification.

With this feat, Tems continues to redefine Afrobeats on the global stage, proving her artistry and influence remain unmatched. The Leading Vibe keeps soaring!

Tems, born on June 11, 1995, in  Lagos, Nigeria, started her music career in 2018 and quickly rose to fame with her breakout single “Try Me” in 2019.

Her collaboration on Wizkid’s “Essence” (2020) became a global hit, earning multiple platinum certifications and a Grammy nomination. She further cemented her international status with Future’s “WAIT FOR U” featuring Drake, which won a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2023.

Tems has worked with global icons like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Drake, and her music blends Afrobeats, R&B, and soul. With multiple Gold and Platinum certifications in the US, she remains one of Africa’s most influential contemporary artists.
