During her Eternal Sunshine Tour stop at the United Center, the singer read a prepared message to fans, saying the decision to step back after the tour was "not a reactive or impulsive thing" and that she had planned it "quietly, a long time ago." Grande also told the audience that suggestions that outside negativity was influencing her decision were not accurate.
