 ECOWAS Slashes Air Travel Taxes and Charges to Boost Regional Connectivity West African leaders have taken a major step to make flying within the region significantly cheaper, adopting measures that will abolish multiple air transport taxes and cut passenger and security charges by 25 percent starting 1 January 2026. The decision was reached at the ECOWAS Heads of State and Government Summit held in Abuja in December 2024, where leaders signed a Supplementary Act on Aviation Charges, Taxes and Fees aimed at tackling one of the biggest barriers to regional integration: the high cost of intra-African air travel. For years, West Africa has had some of the world’s most expensive airfares relative to distance, largely due to a web of taxes, fuel surcharges, security fees and other levies imposed by individual countries.  The new policy requires all 15 ECOWAS member states to eliminate designated air transport taxes entirely and reduce remaining passenger service and security charg...

 Tinubu Increases 2025 Budget from ₦49.7 Trillion to ₦54.2 Trillion


President Bola Tinubu has revised the proposed 2025 budget, raising it from ₦49.7 trillion to ₦54.2 trillion due to additional revenues generated by key government agencies.


In letters addressed to both the Senate and the House of Representatives, which were read during Wednesday’s plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu explained that the increase was driven by:

₦1.4 trillion from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS),

₦1.2 trillion from the Nigeria Customs Service, and

₦1.8 trillion from other government-owned agencies.


Following the announcement, Akpabio referred the request to the Senate Committee on Appropriations for urgent review, assuring lawmakers that the budget would be finalized and passed before the end of February.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
