 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Trump Nominates Edward Martin as U.S. Attorney for D.C.


U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated Edward R. Martin, Jr. as the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia.


In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump praised Martin’s credentials, highlighting his experience with the Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis, his role as a judicial clerk for a U.S. Court of Appeals judge, and his work as a private attorney.


Trump noted that Martin has been serving as interim U.S. attorney since Inauguration Day, commending his efforts in restoring law and order in the nation's capital.


“It is my honor to nominate Edward R. Martin, Jr. for the full and permanent term as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. Since Inauguration Day, Ed has been doing a great job, fighting tirelessly to make our nation’s capital safe and beautiful again,” Trump stated.


The U.S. attorney plays a crucial role in overseeing federal legal matters in Washington, D.C.
