 Arsenal set to open new contract talks with Saka Arsenal are set to open formal talks with Bukayo Saka over a new contract as the forward enters the final two years of his current deal. Saka has been unavailable since December after sustaining a serious hamstring tear in the victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park - an injury that eventually required surgery. But his importance to Mikel Arteta's team remains unquestioned with the club preparing to meet the player's representatives over a contract extension.Arsenal want to avoid any uncertainty regarding their star player's future and will make securing Saka to a longer contract one of their top priorities.  UEFA Weighs Scrapping Extra Time in Champions League Knockouts


UEFA is considering eliminating extra time in Champions League knockout rounds to ease player workload, with discussions gaining traction.


According to The Guardian UK, the proposal would see matches go straight to penalties after regulation time, though any changes are unlikely before the current TV rights cycle ends in 2027.


Concerns over congested schedules, particularly with the expanded Champions League format and the FIFA Club World Cup, have fueled the debate.


Supporters of the idea argue that scrapping extra time would:

Reduce strain on players, especially those in summer qualifying rounds.

Help clubs with smaller squads compete more fairly.

Provide broadcasters with more predictable match durations.


UEFA acknowledged that the issue has been informally discussed but has not yet been formally proposed for approval by its executive committee.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
