 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. UNN TAKES ACTION AGAINST LECTURER ACCUSED OF IMPREGNATING FOUR FEMALE STUDENTS. (PHOTO).


 

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has suspended a lecturer, Mr. Chigozie Jude Odum, from the Department of Archeology and Tourism, over allegations of impregnating four female students within four years of his appointment.


According to a letter dated February 15, 2025, signed by the Deputy Registrar, Achiuwa F.C. (Mrs), on behalf of the Registrar, Odum's suspension was confirmed. The letter instructed him to hand over all university documents in his possession to the Head of the Department.


As part of the suspension, the university management directed Odum to stay away from his duty post. Additionally, the bursar was instructed to place him on half salary pending the outcome of the investigation into the allegations.


The university's decision to suspend Odum reflects its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment for all students. The investigation into the allegations is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on its findings.
