 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. UNN TAKES ACTION AGAINST LECTURER ACCUSED OF IMPREGNATING FOUR FEMALE STUDENTS. (PHOTO).

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has suspended a lecturer, Mr. Chigozie Jude Odum, from the Department of Archeology and Tourism, over allegations of impregnating four female students within four years of his appointment.


According to a letter dated February 15, 2025, signed by the Deputy Registrar, Achiuwa F.C. (Mrs), on behalf of the Registrar, Odum's suspension was confirmed. The letter instructed him to hand over all university documents in his possession to the Head of the Department.


As part of the suspension, the university management directed Odum to stay away from his duty post. Additionally, the bursar was instructed to place him on half salary pending the outcome of the investigation into the allegations.


The university's decision to suspend Odum reflects its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment for all students. The investigation into the allegations is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on its findings.
