 U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates.  Yobe Governor, Mala Buni sets to complete Nigeria's biggest modern Truck Transit Park in Potiskum. 


It would provide direct jobs to more than 5000 people.....


The project is one of the numerous capital projects initiated by Gov. Mai Mala Buni in his efforts to improve the economy of the state by improving revenue generation, providing job opportunities to thousands of Yobeans.  


As it's undeniable that Potiskum is the destination of trucks in the country, the project would help to promote safety and security of cargoes and haulage vehicles while in transit, reduce pilferage and theft of cargoes, etc. 


As proposed by Gov. Buni administration, the Potiskum TTP would contain the following facilities: 

1. Fuel & Gas station

2. Banking facilities

3. Mechanic Workshop

4. Recreation centres

5. Motel / Hotels 

6. Garage parking slots

7. Safety/ security officers

8. Fire fighters 

9. Electricity and water supply

10. Clinic

11. Well designed road network

12. Training centres 

13. Shops.
