 LAGOS NSCDC DEPLOYS 2, 250 PERSONNEL, VOW TO ARREST VANDALS OF OIL PIPELINES, BRIDGES, MANHOLES, TRANSFORMERS ... The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos state command, has deployed two thousand two hundred and fifty ( 2, 250 ) personnel to ensure safety of lives and property during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state. The Eid-el-Fitr, also called, “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos state command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, while addressing officers and men of the Command, said that the special deployment of personnel also followed, the Federal Government’s declaration of Monday 31st March and Tuesday 1st April, 2025 as public holidays to mark the celebration. Abia Police Command Upholds Discipline: Dismisses an Officer for unethical conduct


1. The public is hereby notified that AP/NO 338736 Inspector Kufere Moses, formerly serving at Mopol 55 PMF Aba and attached to UBA Bank Guard in Aba, Abia State has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force, effective 21st February 2025. He has also been de-kitted, and all police accouterments have been retrieved from him.


2. This action follows administrative disciplinary measures taken against him by the command for Discreditable Conduct and offenses against discipline.


3. The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, reaffirms the Command’s zero tolerance for unprofessional conduct. He assures the public that the Command will not condone the activities of bad elements within the force. Under his leadership, the Command remains committed to the Inspector General of Police’s vision of ensuring a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law-compliant and people-friendly police force.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
