 Military judge suppresses Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s FBI confession in 9/11 case A military judge has excluded a confession that alleged Sept. 11 attacks mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed gave to FBI agents nearly 20 years ago, ruling that the statements were not made voluntarily. The decision is a setback for the U.S. government's long-running effort to prosecute Mohammed, who is accused of helping develop the plot to hijack planes and crash them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Mohammed remains detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, alongside other defendants awaiting trial. Lt. Col. Michael Schrama, the judge overseeing the case, scheduled a June 2028 trial for Mohammed and three other defendants earlier this week. AKWA IBOM POLICE ARREST MAN FOR ALLEGED MURDER OF WIFE. (PHOTOS).


 

A 42-year-old man, Victor Okoh, has been arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for the alleged gruesome murder of his 38-year-old wife, Victoria Okoh, at their residence in Oron Local Government Area.


According to DSP Timfon John, the command's Public Relations Officer, the arrest was made following a distress call from concerned residents of the area. The police operatives stormed the building at about 5 am and arrested the suspect, who was hiding under the ceiling to evade arrest.


Preliminary investigations revealed that Victor Okoh allegedly attacked his wife with a machete over accusations of infidelity. The police recovered the machete used in the crime and deposited the corpse at the General Hospital Morgue for an autopsy.


The Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, condemned the act and assured the public that justice will take its full course. He emphasized the command's commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and warned against all forms of domestic violence, urging residents to seek lawful means of resolving disputes.


The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
