McDonald’s launches World Cup meal and collectible cups ahead of 2026 FIFA tournament kickoff McDonald’s is launching limited-time World Cup meals and collectibles ahead of the FIFA tournament kickoff on June 11, as excitement builds for the expanded 48-team competition co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The fast-food chain, returning as an official tournament sponsor, will roll out its World Cup-themed menu nationwide starting June 4. Customers can choose between a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with a special gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. As part of the promotion, McDonald’s is also releasing collectible cups featuring nine global soccer stars and cultural icons. The lineup includes Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez, and the brand’s mascot Grimace. AKWA IBOM POLICE ARREST MAN FOR ALLEGED MURDER OF WIFE. (PHOTOS).


 

A 42-year-old man, Victor Okoh, has been arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for the alleged gruesome murder of his 38-year-old wife, Victoria Okoh, at their residence in Oron Local Government Area.


According to DSP Timfon John, the command's Public Relations Officer, the arrest was made following a distress call from concerned residents of the area. The police operatives stormed the building at about 5 am and arrested the suspect, who was hiding under the ceiling to evade arrest.


Preliminary investigations revealed that Victor Okoh allegedly attacked his wife with a machete over accusations of infidelity. The police recovered the machete used in the crime and deposited the corpse at the General Hospital Morgue for an autopsy.


The Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, condemned the act and assured the public that justice will take its full course. He emphasized the command's commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and warned against all forms of domestic violence, urging residents to seek lawful means of resolving disputes.


The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
