 Rep. John Larson files impeachment articles against Trump over Iran war threats     Rep. John Larson announced Tuesday that he has filed articles of impeachment against President Trump, citing the president’s recent social media post threatening to destroy a “whole civilization” if the Strait of Hormuz was not immediately reopened. Larson said Trump’s actions in the ongoing war in Iran are illegal and endangering American lives and the economy. The filing comes after Trump temporarily paused the strikes for two weeks following Pakistan’s request for an extended deadline to allow diplomatic efforts. Larson criticized Trump’s remarks, including his Easter Sunday post, as increasingly unstable and a threat to U.S. security. Seventy Democrats, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen.  Aleshinloye inferno: Olubadan seeks safety measures in markets


The Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Owolabi Olakulehin has called on market leaders and all stakeholders to imbibe safety measures and protocols in their operations to prevent or minimise disasters that may lead to loss of lives and property across markets in the state.

He made the call following the recent fire disaster at Aleshinloye market in Ibadan which reportedly gutted over 500 shops with the Oyo State government promising an investigation into the incident.

The monarch spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Solomon Ayoade in a statement on Friday.

The monarch said: “I am not happy with the spate of fire disasters in market and other places in Ibadan and Oyo State. It is too frequent for comfort. My call is for the managers of markets to develop and implement stringent safety protocols and measures in our markets to stem the tide of incessant fire outbreaks and other disasters.

“Lives and property are precious. It is imperative that we protect and preserve both for sustainable living and economic development. All stakeholders must work together to prevent and mitigate this negative life and economic threatening trend.”

The paramount ruler sympathised with traders in Aleshinloye market whose goods and wares were destroyed in the recent inferno, praying God to replenish them while also pleading with the government to see how it can mitigate the attendant losses.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
