ADAMU GARBA CALLS FOR A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN EDO STATE, GIVES REASON. (PHOTO).

Matt Porter, 35-years-old, rescued his pet pit bull 'Karma' only months before the fateful February 19th attack. He said when Karma wandered up behind his shop, he was encouraged by his family to adopt her in order to help him heal from a recent broken engagement.
When he found her she was so thin he could see her ribs. It is reported the pit bull possibly lived with an abusive family before Matt found her. Matt started feeding her and their relationship started off strong. He said she was sweet and caring and never left his side.
Matt said besides nipping at him when he would grab her collar to take her outside, she never showed any signs of aggression.
All of that changed on that February day. According to Matt, he was shaving when Karma jumped on him. He pushed her back and that is when his seemingly sweet dog snapped. She lunged back in and clamped down on his arm. This would be the beginning of Matt's 45 minute struggle for life.
He stated there was blood spraying everywhere and she wouldn't stop chewing on his arm. He was in agonizing pain and eventually lost use of his hands. That is when Matt decided he must do something decisive.
Although he had no use of his hands, Matt used sheer will-power to choke Karma fatally with his forearms. He said as he grabbed her neck, he was pleading with her to just stop, but by this point Karma was trying to get to his throat.
After being able to subdue Karma, Matt passed out and woke up in a puddle of his own blood. Some of his wounds were so bad you could see bone and tendons.
Matt had suffered over 70 dog bites and spent a week in the hospital undergoing reconstructive surgeries on his arms.
He said everything is a struggle now and he still has little to no use of his hands. Matt is a tree surgeon and doesn't know if he will ever be able to go back to work. His family and friends have set up a GoFundMe for him if you would like to help Matt financially. If you search GoFundMe and his name you will find the campaign.
Matt said despite the attack... he does not blame Karma and believes she was just having a bad day.
