 TRAGIC LOSS OF NYSC CORPS MEMBER DURING ARMED ROBBERY INCIDENT IN DEI-DEI Headquarters Guards Brigade regrets the tragic loss of Mr. Abdulsamad Jamiu, a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member  during a security incident in the early hours of 25 April 2026 at Shagari Estate, Dei-Dei, Abuja. The unfortunate incident occurred when troops of the Guards Brigade Quick Response Group, on routine night patrol, responded to a distress call following an armed robbery attack in the area. Upon arrival, the troops came under gunfire from the fleeing armed robbers, resulting in a brief but intense exchange. In the course of the engagement, Mr. Jamiu was caught in the crossfire. Despite efforts by troops to secure the area and preserve lives, he sadly succumbed to his injuries. This heartbreaking loss has cast a deep shadow over all personnel of the Guards Brigade.  ANAMBRA POLICE TO PARTNER WITH SPORTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (SWAN) TO ORGANIZE SPORTS COMPETITIONS WITH MARKET COMMUNITY/RELEVANT STAKEHOLDERS TO ENHANCE RELATIONSHIP WITH MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC


The Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, while receiving members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Anambra State Chapter today 17th March 2025 in his office at Awka, proposes to partner with SWAN to organise sports competitions with the market community and relevant stakeholders to enhance the Police's relationship with the public, thus promoting a sense of community bonding and trust. 

 

The CP noted that this initiative is a great way to promote social cohesion and improve communication between law enforcement and the public.  According to the CP, this will create a positive and engaging environment for the public, and by so doing showcase the importance of sports in building bridges between law enforcement and the community.


Given the above, the Chairman of the SWAN Anambra State Chapter Mr Chimezie Ananso thanked the CP for receiving the Association and expressed readiness to partner with the Command to actualize its goals. Consequently, the Command and SWAN is reviewing the Proposal to enable them to select the participants and the theme of the competition accordingly.


CP Orutugu's commitment to community policing and public engagement is evident in his efforts to partner with various stakeholders, to end violent crimes in the State.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
