 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  'Come To APC And I'll Praise You More', Akpabio Woos Abia Governor, Otti, 


Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for his outstanding performance in office, particularly in celebrating Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe's 70th birthday. Akpabio made these remarks at the birthday ceremony organized by the Abia State Government, where he described Otti as a generous leader whose goodwill has positively impacted the welfare of the people of Abia.


Akpabio commended Otti's decision to honor Abaribe despite their political differences, stating that it shows Otti understands politics and has endeared himself to the people of Abia. He also praised Otti's political acumen, saying that honoring Abaribe was a strategic move that has won the hearts of the people of Abia South.


However, Akpabio's praise came with a hint of politics, as he suggested that Otti would receive even greater recognition if he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). "The day you join the APC, you will hear my full praise and see how I will celebrate you," Akpabio said.
