 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Commercial motorcyclist comimits suicide after wife left with children


A commercial motorcyclist simply identified Papa Ejime has reportedly killed himself after he allegedly drank a substance suspected to be an insecticide.


The incident occurred on Sunday morning at Oghara, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State.


It was learnt that the deceased  k!ļļed himself after his marriage crashed recently.


It was gathered that the deceased, a chronic gambler always beat his wife anytime he failed to win.


Neighbours who craved anonymity said early this year, the deceased punched his wife on the mouth, causing her teeth to fall out.


According to the neighbours, before the marriage crashed, his wife has been footing all the bills including house rent, feeding and children school fees.


They added that the woman left the house with her children due to issues relating to domestic violence.


The neighbours also pointed that several attempts by the deceased to bring his wife back failed, before he reportedly took his own life.
