 LAWMA SEALS PREMISES ON AGO PALACE WAY, ARRESTS 11 DUMPERS ON LAGOS ISLAND … Intensifies Enforcement Against Illegal Waste Disposal In renewed enforcement efforts, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sealed premises identified for persistent illegal waste dumping along Ago Palace Way and arrested 11 persons for illegal waste disposal in various parts of Lagos Island. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the enforcement operations underscored the Authority’s resolve to enforce existing waste management regulations and ensure compliance with approved waste disposal practices across Lagos. He explained that the Ago Palace Way operation covered plazas, hotels, lounges and warehouses along the corridor, as part of efforts to tackle activities contributing to waste build-up and environmental nuisance on road setbacks, medians and other unauthorised public spaces.  Cross River PDP Reinstates Chairman Venatius Ikem


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has reinstated its chairman, Venatius Ikem, months after his suspension over allegations of misconduct, financial mismanagement, and the party’s poor performance in the 2024 local government elections.


Ikem Declares Vindication, Pledges Party Revival


Speaking at the PDP Secretariat in Calabar, Ikem announced that he had been “exonerated and acquitted” of all allegations. He assured party members that his return would restore PDP’s influence in the state and beyond.


"The party may have fallen and stumbled, but we will rise to take our rightful place in Cross River and Nigeria," he said.


Calls for Unity and Reconciliation


Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Ikem urged members to forgive past grievances and work toward party unity.


"The past four months were difficult, but we must move forward. I hold no grudges and will engage all stakeholders to rebuild our party," he stated.


Ikem encouraged loyal supporters to remain steadfast, emphasizing that PDP’s future in Cross River remains bright.
