 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Cross River PDP Reinstates Chairman Venatius Ikem


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has reinstated its chairman, Venatius Ikem, months after his suspension over allegations of misconduct, financial mismanagement, and the party’s poor performance in the 2024 local government elections.


Ikem Declares Vindication, Pledges Party Revival


Speaking at the PDP Secretariat in Calabar, Ikem announced that he had been “exonerated and acquitted” of all allegations. He assured party members that his return would restore PDP’s influence in the state and beyond.


"The party may have fallen and stumbled, but we will rise to take our rightful place in Cross River and Nigeria," he said.


Calls for Unity and Reconciliation


Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Ikem urged members to forgive past grievances and work toward party unity.


"The past four months were difficult, but we must move forward. I hold no grudges and will engage all stakeholders to rebuild our party," he stated.


Ikem encouraged loyal supporters to remain steadfast, emphasizing that PDP’s future in Cross River remains bright.
