 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  EDUCATION DISTRICT II EMPOWERS STAFF WITH SOFT LOANS, DISTRIBUTES MODERN OFFICE EQUIPMENT 


In a strategic move to enhance administrative efficiency and create a more conducive work environment, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, has instituted a revolving soft loans project as a means of financial assistance for the District staff just as she distributed equipment, furniture, and accessories to offices in the district.


The initiative, aimed at strengthening the working conditions of staff for optimal service delivery, is part of the Lagos State Government’s ongoing commitment to improving the education sector. 


Addressing members of staff at the District Headquarters, Maryland recently, Mrs. Adekanye emphasised the significance of well-equipped offices in fostering quality work delivery.


"A well-equipped office translates to better productivity. We believe that when workers have the necessary tools, they will be able to carry out their core responsibilities effectively".


She noted that the initiative is a testament to the commitment of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in supporting the workforce and ensuring efficiency, urging recipients to make good use of the equipment for service efficiency. She further expressed her sincere appreciation to all staff for their support ,commitment and delligence throughout her stay in the District. She expressed optimism that the District will continue to wax stronger even after her retirement.


In her words, ""I want to celebrate and appreciate all of you. I want to thank you for being there for me. For working diligently with all your mind. I have no doubt in my mind that Education District II will continue to prioritize policies and projects that align with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus agenda for a robust and technologically-driven educational sector in Lagos State”. 


Highpoint of the day was the institution of a revolving soft loans project as a means of financial assistance for District staff alongside the distribution of High Capacity Photocopiers, Air Conditioners, Chairs, Ceiling and Standing fans and Water Closset.
