 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail.  Ekiti: Police arrest man for hacking mother, sister to death


The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested one Victor Lorjaal of Aba Ile camp, Itaji-Ekiti, for macheting his mother, Mrs Victoria Lorjaal, and his elder sister, Brenda Lorjaal, to death on 25th March, 2025 at about 07:10hrs.


In a statement made available to journalists by the Police Public Relations Officer, SO Abutu Sunday ANIPR said one of the children of the deceased, who is an eye witness, narrated that while working with the suspect on the farm, he suddenly left him and went to meet their mother and sister at a distant location where they were also working.


According to him, shortly after the suspect left, he heard his mother screaming for help but before he could get closer, the suspect committed the dastard act and took to his heels with the cutlass he used, leaving the two victims in the pool of their blood.


The statement added that Ekiti State Commissioner of Polce, CP Joseph Eribo has ordered a thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident, while commiserating with the friends and family of the deceased.


The suspect will be charged to court immediately after the completion of investigation.
