 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings. FORCE MANAGEMENT: IGP INAUGURATES NEW FORCE MANAGEMENT TEAM, RESTATES AGENDA FOR NIGERIA POLICE FORCE.


In a pivotal moment for the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, today, March 10th, 2025, formally inaugurated the newly restructured Force Management Team (FMT), following the appointment of six new Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to ensure the smooth and effective administration of the Nigeria Police Force.


The IGP charged the FMT with aligning the vision and operations of the Nigeria Police Force with the Federal Government's agenda, reiterating his vision for a professionally competent, service-driven, and people-friendly Police Force, well-positioned to address contemporary crime. The FMT’s efforts will focus on the reorganization and specialization of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and other investigative units. 


To that end, The IGP has directed the update of the Force criminal database. Furthermore, The IGP directed the Department of Research and Planning (R&P) to collaborate closely with the FID and the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to ensure the database is able to aid investigations and enhance policing strategies.


The IGP emphasized equipping these units with the latest technologies, training at all levels, and resources to enhance their investigative capacity, ensuring justice is served while upholding decency, professionalism, and respect for human rights. The establishment of the new Force Management Team is a significant step forward, fostering collaboration and innovation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force and contribute to the overall safety and security of Nigeria.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
