 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  How Thunder Killed Herder, Cows In Southern Kaduna


A herder and at least 12 cows were reportedly struck dead by lightning in Southern Kaduna.


The incident occurred around 4:30 pm on Sunday in Matuak Giwa, Bondon District, Moro’a Chiefdom in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.


According to the Village Head of Matuak Giwa, Simon Ayuba, the young herder was taking shelter from the rain alongside his cattle when the thunderstrike hit, killing them instantly.


“The herder, along with 12 cows, died on the spot. It was a tragic occurrence that has left the community in shock,” Ayuba said.


Confirming the incident, Mallam Tanko Isiyaka, the Ardo of Bondon District, disclosed that the deceased herder hailed from Bauchi State.


He expressed sadness over the incident and called for prayers and support for the bereaved family as the victim was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.


The occurrence has since stirred grief and sympathy among residents of the area.
