Jeje was said to have disappeared after some midwives and nurses at the hospital told him his wife, Iyanu Ehuwa Jeje, gave birth to three baby boys. The incident took place on Tuesday, causing confusion inside the facility of the Aribo Hospital in Ilaje as the health workers raised the alarm about the whereabouts of  Jeje. Sources at the hospital told Daily Trust that the man left his wife and the newborns stranded in the hospital. One of the sources said Mrs Jejeā€™s ordeal began around 5 am at Igbokoda Health Centre, where she experienced a prolonged delay due to the unavailability of a doctor on duty. ā€œIt was after her condition worsened that she was rushed to Aribo Hospital, where she delivered the triplets. ā€œB...

IBB, Humphrey Nwosu deceived 18m Nigerians, never confessed attrocities ā€“ Oshiomhole

Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole has accused the late Chairman of the defunct National Electoral Commission, NEC, Humphrey Nwosu and former military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB, of fooling 18 million Nigerians who voted during the 1993 presidential election.

Oshiomhole made the remark while insisting that Nigeria cannot immortalize Nwosu.

He spoke during his contribution to the debate on the motion sponsored by Enyinnaya Abaribe for the immortalisation of the late Nwosu, on the floor of the senate on Thursday.

He pointed out that the late NEC Chairman failed to confess to the atrocities and events that went wrong during the June 12, 1993, presidential election.

According to Oshiomhole: ā€œProf. Nwosu and IBB fooled 18 million Nigerians that voted. Therefore, if he was afraid of the gun because we were under a dictatorship, Some people might say, but there were Nigerians who were protesting under the gun without minding the consequences.

ā€œAfter the end of Babangidaā€™s tenure, the death of Abiola, the birth of the new democracy that produced President Obasanjo, since then, I would have expected Nwosu to be able to say, either on his birthday or any occasion: ā€œnow that we are about democracy and there is freedom of speech ā€“ even the freedom to lie.

ā€œI would have expected Nwosu to say, ā€œI couldnā€™t display these numbers now in my record; Abiola won this election, but Iā€™m not able to announce it.ā€™ He died without confessing, and he cannot be rewarded.ā€
