Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. Jandor Announces Return to APC After Leaving PDP


Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially announced his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).


In a statement shared on his official page, Jandor explained that his decision followed extensive consultations with family, political associates, and supporters. He emphasized that a political party's primary goal is to win elections and form a government, which he believes the APC prioritizes more effectively than the PDP.


Reflecting on his time in the PDP, Jandor noted that while he was proud of his 2023 gubernatorial campaign and legal battle up to the Supreme Court, the party’s internal leadership worked against its own members. In contrast, he acknowledged the APC’s strong leadership, particularly praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ability to secure victories for the party.


Jandor expressed gratitude to key figures who facilitated his return, including the President, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and Seyi Tinubu, who personally reached out to encourage him. He assured his supporters that the move was in Lagos' best interest and called on them to join him in working towards a better Lagos.


He reaffirmed his commitment to service, integrity, and progress, pledging to contribute his experience and vision to national development within the APC.
