 43 children among 79 civilians killed in paramilitary RSF drone attack in Sudan's South Kordofan At least 79 civilians, including 43 children, were killed and 38 others injured in a drone strike carried out by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in South Kordofan, Sudanese authorities said, TRT Afrika reported. In a statement, the South Kordofan state government said four women were among the victims in Thursday’s attack on the city of Kalogi in western Sudan. It said the drone fired four missiles into a kindergarten, a hospital and densely populated residential areas, describing the incident as a "heinous crime" committed by the RSF-allied Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N). Authorities had initially reported eight fatalities, including six children and a teacher, before the death toll climbed to 79. MINISTER UMAHI URGES SOUTH EAST TO SHOW APPRECIATION TO PRESIDENT TINUBU WITH 100% VOTES IN 2027.(PHOTO).


 

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has praised President Bola Tinubu's administration for executing numerous projects in the South East, surpassing the achievements of past presidents. While inspecting the progress of works on the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Umuahia-Aba Section II of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Umahi emphasized that the President deserves the region's total support in the 2027 elections as a token of appreciation.


The Minister revealed that the President has provided sufficient funds for the road project, which is captured in the 2024 and 2025 budgets. He assured that the remaining 2km earthwork and 4km asphalt work will be completed by June 2025, and the road will be inaugurated shortly after.


Umahi stressed that the South East region should demonstrate its gratitude to President Tinubu by giving him 100% of their votes in the 2027 elections. He believes that his own role in the administration makes him uniquely qualified to request the region's support.


In his words, "The entire South East must give Mr. President 100% of their votes in the 2027 elections to appreciate him. I am the one that is fit to ask for your votes because he has used me to work for you."


The Minister's statement highlights the administration's efforts to transform the transportation infrastructure in the South East, as part of President Tinubu's commitment to developing the region's economy.
