 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings.  Niger Assembly Approves New Electricity Regulatory Commission Members


The Niger State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of a new chairman and commissioners for the Niger State Electricity Regulatory Commission following a request from Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.


The confirmation was announced during a plenary session after Speaker Muhammad Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji read the governor’s correspondence.


The newly confirmed members are:

-Dr. Mohammed Sharu (Bida) – Chairman

-Dr. Maiwada S. Bello (Paikoro) – Commissioner for Enforcement and Consumer Affairs

-Dr. Muhammad Ameen Shakur (Bida) – Commissioner for Licensing and Regulations

-Jiro Ahmed Mohammed (Kontagora) – Commissioner for Rural Electricity Access Management

-Adamu Nagogo (Chanchaga) – Commissioner for Finance and Administration


Speaker Sarkin Daji congratulated the appointees and urged them to leverage their expertise to enhance Niger State’s electricity sector.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
