 FIRST IMPORTED EBOLA CASE: NIGERIA EVACUATES INDEX CASE TO SWITZERLAND AS CONTAINMENT MEASURES CONTINUE The Nigeria’s confirmed Ebola index case has been medically evacuated from Abuja to Switzerland, following approval by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate. The forty-two-year-old patient, whose case marked Nigeria’s first imported Ebola virus disease case, was transferred alongside her spouse, who has remained asymptomatic. In a statement posted on his X handle, Professor Pate said the patient was clinically much improved, stable, conscious and able to communicate, with laboratory test results approaching baseline levels. However, the Minister cautioned that the patient’s clinical improvement does not necessarily mean she is no longer infectious, stressing that strict public health protocols remain in place. A Nigerian man, Bayo Salami, has made shocking allegations against his family, claiming they detained him at an Islamic cleric's residence for 23 days over a property dispute.


In a viral video, Salami recounted his ordeal, stating that he returned to Nigeria after 23 years abroad to claim the property he had been sending money for. However, upon his arrival, his family allegedly detained him under the pretense of prayers.


Salami, who is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and owns a business called Kuvuki Empire, claimed that he was locked up and mistreated during his detention. He expressed his distress and frustration in the video, sparking widespread concern and outrage online.
