 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday. NNPCL WARNS AGAINST FAKE RECRUITMENT ADVERTS, SAYS NO ONGOING HIRING. (PHOTO).


 

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has issued a warning to the public to be cautious of fraudulent recruitment advertisements circulating online. The company stated that it is not currently conducting any recruitment process.


In a statement released on its official social media handle on Friday, NNPCL cautioned job seekers against falling victim to fake recruitment schemes. The company emphasized that all legitimate job openings will only be announced through its official website and verified social media platforms.


NNPCL reiterated that its recruitment process is transparent, merit-based, and does not require external assistance. The company urged Nigerians to disregard any unofficial job advertisements claiming to be from NNPCL, as they could be attempts to defraud unsuspecting applicants.


The management assured the public that it remains committed to upholding the integrity of its hiring process and will notify Nigerians whenever recruitment officially commences. NNPCL advised the public to verify information directly from its official platforms to avoid being misled by scammers.
