Trump issues pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer after insider trading conviction    President Donald Trump has issued a full pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer, who served nearly two years in prison after being convicted of insider trading tied to post-congressional consulting work. Buyer was sentenced in 2023 to 22 months in prison for illegal stock trades made while working as a consultant and lobbyist. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has issued a warning to the public to be cautious of fraudulent recruitment advertisements circulating online. The company stated that it is not currently conducting any recruitment process.


In a statement released on its official social media handle on Friday, NNPCL cautioned job seekers against falling victim to fake recruitment schemes. The company emphasized that all legitimate job openings will only be announced through its official website and verified social media platforms.


NNPCL reiterated that its recruitment process is transparent, merit-based, and does not require external assistance. The company urged Nigerians to disregard any unofficial job advertisements claiming to be from NNPCL, as they could be attempts to defraud unsuspecting applicants.


The management assured the public that it remains committed to upholding the integrity of its hiring process and will notify Nigerians whenever recruitment officially commences. NNPCL advised the public to verify information directly from its official platforms to avoid being misled by scammers.
