 EID-EL-FITR: IGP FELICITATES MUSLIM UMMAH, CALLS FOR SUSTAINED PEACE AND UNITY -Assures Heightened Security for a Peaceful Celebration The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, extends warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah across the country on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan. The IGP acknowledges the spiritual significance of this period, urging all Nigerians to sustain the virtues of self-discipline, tolerance, and compassion fostered during Ramadan to promote peaceful coexistence and national unity. The IGP has also directed heightened security deployments across the country to ensure a peaceful celebration.  Nollywood Mourns as Veteran Actress Nkechi Nweje Passes Away


The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following reports of the passing of veteran Nollywood actress Nkechi Nweje. Known for her impactful roles in numerous Nollywood movies, her death has left fans and colleagues heartbroken.


Tributes have poured in from fellow actors and industry insiders, who describe her as a talented and passionate actress. While the cause of her death remains unclear, her legacy in the Nigerian entertainment industry is undeniable.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. ā€œThe Appellant was set up.
