 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. OHIO MAN ARRESTED AFTER THE 12-YEAR-OLD BOY HE FORCED INTO ICE BATHS TRAGICALLY DIES. (PHOTO).

 Ohio man arrested after the 12-year-old boy he forced into ice baths tragically dies.


Authorities were called to a home at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday (March 22nd) in Akron, Ohio.

The initial call was to report a 12-year-old boy was suffering from a cardiac arrest. EMS transported Jadako Taylor to Akron's Children's Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. It was recorded that Jadako had a body temperature of just 74 degrees when EMS responded to the scene...


As police began investigating this young boy's death, a chilling tale emerged.  According to reports by Akron Municipal Court, 23-year-old Anthony McCants caused the death of Jadako by forcing him into ice baths.


The courts allege McCants forced Jadako into 2 ice baths between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. The first ice bath lasted approximately 45 minutes. Once Jadako was allowed out he was forced to do push ups and other exercises. 


He was then forced into a second ice bath that lasted around 30 minutes.  After his second ordeal Jadako began to vomit and seize, prompting the call to EMS.


Anthony McCants was arrested on felony child endangering and had his bond set at $500,000. He has pleaded not guilty.


May the young boy finally be able to rest in peace. This is a heartbreaking story and a terrible fate for the child.
