 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Onitsha North Mayor Calls for Unity with Market Leaders

The Chairman of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Mr. Tony Nwora has emphasized the importance of a collaborative relationship between the council and market leaders. He made this call during an interactive session with market leaders and line leaders at their meeting house in Ose Market.


Nwora shared his vision for Onitsha North, focusing on the growth and progress of the council area, which he believes is already showing signs of success. He reminded them of Governor Soludo's strict directive to eliminate the corrupt practice of collecting revenue in cash, which has led to significant financial losses for the government as large chunks of revenue end up in private pockets.


He introduced an electronic means of payment, explaining the importance and urgency of the electronic use, assured to usher in a wave of development like never before in the annals of Onitsha North Local Government Area.


The Chairman of Ose Market, Chief Ikechukwu Umeanozie, thanked the Onitsha North Mayor and highlighted some of Governor Soludo's notable achievements, particularly in the area of security. He praised the Governor's strategic efforts to enhance security, which include effectively cordoning off the city at night to prevent crime and maintain public safety.


He also commend Hon Tony Nwora for being a good leader especially in using an open door policy, affirmed their unalloyed endorsement and support for his development strides. He presented a cup won as first position by women of OSE Market at a contested marching competition of all various market women in Anambra State.
