 NAFDAC Reopens Onitsha Drug Market After Month-Long Closure The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has reopened the Onitsha Head Bridge drug market, popularly known as 'Ogbo Ogwu', after a month-long closure for sanitization and regulatory enforcement. The market was shut down as part of NAFDAC's nationwide clampdown on fake and substandard medicines. To prevent a recurrence of the issues that led to the closure, NAFDAC has implemented strict administrative conditions for reopening. Shop owners are required to complete documentation and clearance procedures before their shops can be unsealed. Saudi Arabia Confirms Sunday For Eid Al-Fitr Celebrations

The moon sighting in Saudi Arabia is currently underway to mark the beginning of Eid al-Fitr. The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has called upon citizens to sight the crescent moon today, March 29, 2025, which corresponds to the 29th day of Ramadan 1446 AH ¹.


If the moon is sighted, Eid al-Fitr celebrations will commence on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Otherwise, the celebrations will begin on Monday, March 31, 2025. The Royal Court of Saudi Arabia typically makes the official announcement after sunset, based on reports from the Kingdom's observatories ¹.


In Saudi Arabia, the moon sighting process involves local residents reporting to the nearest court if they spot the crescent moon. The Supreme Court then confirms the sighting and announces the start of Eid al-Fitr ¹.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
