 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. Suspected Drug Kingpin Arrested in Hillbrow as Police Nab 200 Suspects


A suspected drug kingpin has been arrested in Hillbrow after police found a building used to make crystal meth and other illegal drugs.


The arrest is part of a major crime prevention operation, which has already led to the capture of 200 suspects.


Police say the operation aims to crack down on organised crime and stop the growing drug trade in the area.
