 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. To ease parking challenges, designated car parks have been arranged for public use, these include; the Yoruba Lawn Tennis Club Car Park, Zone 2 Car Park (opposite Island Club along King George V Road), Museum Kit...

 TARABA STATE GOVERNOR AGBU KEFAS REASSURES NIGERIAN ARMY OF SUSTAINED COLLABORATION IN TACKLING SECURITY CHALLENGES 


The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has declared his commitment to sustaining the close collaboration between the state government and the Nigerian Army (NA)to improve the security of Taraba State. The Governor, accompanied by legislators of Taraba State extraction from the National and Taraba State House of Assemblies made the declaration when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede at the Army Headquarters on Monday 17 March 2025.


Speaking further during the visit, Governor Kefas appreciated the commitment and sacrifice of the troops of the Nigerian Army, especially the 6 Brigade in Jalingo, in their effort towards enhancing the security of the State. He therefore gave the assurance of his administration’s continued support to the troops to discharge their duties effectively.


In his response, the COAS commended the governor and the good people of Taraba State for their unflinching support to the NA in the state.  Pledging the readiness of the NA to improve security in the state and the nation in general, the General Oluyede assured that the Army remains committed to defending the nation as well as combating terrorism and insurgency to ensure lasting peace in the country. He  added "We recognize the importance of security in fostering development, and I assure you that we are resolute in our mission to stamp out crime and maintain peace, not only in Taraba state but the nation as a whole".


The visit underscores a shared commitment to enhancing security and promoting economic growth in Taraba State and the nation at large, marking a positive step towards a safer and more prosperous future for the citizenry. The visit was attended by eminent personalities from the Taraba State Government and Legislature as well as Principal Staff Officers of Army Headquarters.
