 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Tinubu Appoints Brig. Gen. Kunle Nafiu as NYSC Director-General


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).


Until his appointment, Brig. Gen. Nafiu served as Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, and previously held the same role under the late Lt. Gen. Raised Abiodun Lagbaja.


A Member of the 47 Regular Course, Nafiu is an Artillery Officer and an alumnus of both the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the U.S. Army War College. He also served as a Directing Staff at the Nigerian Army War College before becoming Chief of Staff to the COAS.


Hailing from Ileogbo, Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State, Nafiu replaces Brig. Gen. Yushau Ahmed, with his appointment taking immediate effect.
