 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  WhatsApp group admin shot dead for allegedly removing member.


A man has been charged with murd£r after allegedly fatally shooting the administrator of a community WhatsApp group who removed him from the chat, police said Saturday, March 8.


Mushtaq Ahmed was shot dead on Thursday evening, March 6, in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province that borders Afghanistan, which has a history of bloody sectarian violence.


A Pakistani man named only as Ashfaq has been charged with his murd£r, according to police documents seen by AFP and a local police official.


Mushtaq allegedly removed Ashfaq from the WhatsApp group following an argument, according to a statement by Mushtaq’s brother seen by AFP.


He said that both parties had arranged to meet and reconcile but alleges that Ashfaq turned up with a gun and opened fire, k!lling his brother.


Ashfaq was angry “in reaction to removal from WhatsApp group,” according to his statement.
