 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter. Renowned Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has opened up about her decision not to sign upcoming artistes, citing the challenges and responsibilities that come with managing musicians.Nigerian sports betting apps

In a recent interview with Forbes Africa, the Water and Garri hitmaker explained that she does not believe she has the “gift” to mentor and oversee other artistes under her label.

Instead, she prefers to create opportunities in a different way.

“Everyone always says to me, ‘When are you going to sign an artiste?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artiste, because artistes are stressful. I could just be sleeping, and then I will wake up and my artist is trending for something else,” she said.

The 45-year-old singer revealed that she plans to establish a music school where aspiring musicians can develop their skills before being signed by record labels that can support their careers.

“But I do have the gift to help, which is why I am trying to do the music school, where you can go and later sign to a label that can actually help you,” she added.
