 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University.  Wike Revokes PDP National Secretariat Land in Abuja


The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revoked the land allocated to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its national secretariat in Abuja.


In a revocation notice dated March 13, 2025, and signed by the Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, Wike cited the party’s failure to pay annual ground rents for 20 years—from January 1, 2006, to January 1, 2025—despite multiple reminders through national newspapers and electronic media.


The letter stated that the revocation was carried out under the powers conferred on the minister by the Land Use Act No. 6 of 1978. It also referenced Section 28, Subsection 5 (a) and (b) of the Act, which allows for land repossession due to non-compliance with occupancy conditions.


The FCT administration will now take immediate possession of the property until all outstanding payments are settled.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
