  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.  Algeria Expels 12 French Diplomats Amid Escalating Tensions with Paris


Algeria has ordered 12 French embassy officials to leave the country within 48 hours, intensifying a diplomatic rift sparked by France’s indictment of three Algerian nationals—one reportedly a consular official—over the 2024 abduction of anti-government influencer Amir Boukhors (Amir DZ).


French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot confirmed the expulsion on Monday, urging Algeria to reconsider, warning of reciprocal action.


Algiers condemned the arrests as politically motivated and accused France of undermining efforts to restore bilateral ties. The move threatens recent attempts by both nations to mend relations strained by past disputes over migration, regional politics, and colonial history.
