Blaming opposition for hunger is ‘delusion’, Atiku tells Tinubu Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of blaming the opposition for the country’s economic hardship. He said the President was trying to evade responsibility for his administration’s policies. Tinubu had earlier on Saturday blamed his political opponents for hunger and poverty in the country while speaking at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna. “I hear my opponent talking about hunger, poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the President said.  Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price to ₦835/Litre


Dangote Refinery has cut the ex-depot price of petrol to ₦835 per litre—a ₦30 drop from last week’s ₦865, and a ₦45 reduction from ₦880 earlier this month. This marks the third price cut in six weeks.


The new rate, confirmed via pro forma invoice and petroleumprice.ng, includes statutory charges from the NMDPRA. Diesel remains at $608 plus surcharges, while jet fuel stands at $664.75 with added costs. Coastal sales and LPG remain on hold.


The cut aligns with declining landing costs, now at ₦853 per litre, and comes amid the approval of 117,000 metric tonnes of petrol imports between April 8–16.


This also follows the renewed implementation of the Naira-for-Crude policy, a long-term initiative aimed at boosting local refining and easing FX pressures.
