 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. DEVASTATING FIRE LEAVES TENANT HOMELESS IN ABA. (PHOTO).

A massive fire swept through a residential building at 74 Lagos Street, Obohia road, Aba, Abia State, on Tuesday, leaving its occupants without a home. The inferno, which started while residents were asleep, ravaged the entire storey apartment, causing immense distress among those affected.


Although no lives were lost, the fire's cause remains unknown. However, some residents suspect a sudden electrical spark in one of the rooms may have triggered the blaze. Quick-thinking youths and sympathizers at Obohia road prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses and shops.


The affected tenants have described the incident as a major disaster and are appealing to the Abia State government for assistance. Despite efforts to reach him, the Chief Fire Officer of Abia State, Nnanna Arua, was unavailable for an official statement.
