Donald Trump Sparks Debate After Sharing “51st State” Graphic of Venezuela Donald Trump has sparked controversy online after sharing a graphic on his Truth Social account showing Venezuela covered with the American flag and labelled “51st State.” The post was shared on Tuesday night while Trump was travelling to China for a major international summit, drawing widespread attention to the administration’s position on Venezuela. The development comes shortly after Trump stated in a recent interview with Fox News that he was considering the possibility of Venezuela becoming part of the United States, citing the country’s oil resources and growing American influence there.  El-Rufai Visits Emir of Kano, Promotes SDP as Alternative to APC, PDP

Nasir El-Rufai, a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and former Kaduna State governor, visited the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, at his palace on Monday, advocating for the SDP as a credible alternative to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking to journalists after the visit, El-Rufai emphasized the urgent need for a trustworthy political platform to address Nigeria’s challenges. He criticized the APC and PDP, accusing them of being undermined by godfatherism and dysfunction. “We have seen how godfatherism destroyed the PDP and is now wreaking the APC,” he said, stressing that Nigerians deserve a party rooted in fairness, internal democracy, and equal opportunity.

El-Rufai, who recently joined the SDP, highlighted his mission to build a viable political alternative. “Twelve years ago, we merged three major parties to form the APC and defeated an incumbent president. But now, the goal is different. We are bringing together disaffected members across political divides under an existing platform, the SDP, which we believe has the best pedigree and potential,” he stated.

He underscored Kano’s significance in Nigerian politics due to its consistently high voter turnout, noting that engaging stakeholders in the state was a priority after joining the SDP.
