 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  GT Bank driver Mohammed Abo’ore stabbed to death while assisting security officials


The Police Command in Niger has confirmed a stabbing incident that resulted to the death of a community member, Mohammed Abo’ore in the Fadikpe area of Minna.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Niger, Waisu Abiodun, confirmed this in Minna on Monday.

He said that the victim was assisting members of vigilance group in apprehending miscreants who were smoking cannabis in the area.

Abiodun added that during an arrest attempt, one of the suspects, Nura Buhari, stabbed Abo’ore with scissors and escaped.

He noted that Abo’ore was rushed to General Hospital Minna, where he was pronounced dead.

He said one suspect, Abdullahi Rabiu, was arrested and is currently under investigation and assisting the police with further information to help track the fleeing suspects.

Meanwhile, a resident of the area who preferred anonymity, said the deceased was a driver with GT Bank in Minna.

He said the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Sunday night, adding that the deceased was known for promoting peace in the community.
