 YOBE STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVES ENROLLMENT OF RETIREES INTO THE STATES HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT  Yobe state government has approved the enrollment of the state and local government retirees into the state  contributory  Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) social equity programme, marking a significant milestone in the state's effort to strengthen social protection and expand access to quality healthcare .  INEC Chair Urges African Youths to Champion Peaceful Elections


Chairman of Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has called on African youths to promote peaceful and credible elections across the continent.


Speaking during a lecture at The Gambia’s Civil Service University on Tuesday, Yakubu stressed the critical role of young people in electoral processes, urging them to act with integrity and patriotism.


“Young people form the backbone of election duty staff,” he noted, warning against malpractice, misinformation, and fake news.


Yakubu was later honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by the university for his contributions to democracy in West Africa.
