 Republic of Congo holds presidential election, internet disruption reported Internet connectivity across the Republic of Congo was disrupted on Sunday as voters cast ballots in a presidential election, global internet watchdog NetBlocks said. Network data indicated a nation-scale disruption to internet access, the watchdog said on X. A similar near-total nationwide internet blackout was recorded during the country’s March 2021 presidential election, lasting about three days, according to NetBlocks. Polls opened at 6 am (0500GMT) in the country’s presidential election and will remain open until 6 pm (1700GMT). More than 2.6 million registered voters aged 18 and above are eligible to cast their ballots. "Israel Expands Military Offensive in Gaza, Leading to Civilian Casualties and Mass Evacuations"


Israeli airstrikes have intensified in Gaza, with Defence Minister Israel Katz announcing plans to expand military operations, aiming to create "security zones" by seizing large areas of Palestinian territory. The strikes have led to numerous casualties, including at least 19 killed in an attack on a UN clinic in Jabalia. The Israeli military claimed it targeted Hamas operatives, while the UN and local hospitals reported widespread destruction and civilian deaths, including children and women.


Additionally, Israeli ground forces are advancing into Gaza's Rafah area, with 140,000 residents ordered to evacuate. Overnight airstrikes and shelling also targeted regions near the Egypt border, signaling a potential large-scale ground offensive in Gaza.
