 Chris Brown Avoids Jail After London Nightclub Attack, Gets 8-Month Suspended Sentence Chris Brown will not be going to prison for now after a London court sentenced him over a nightclub attack that left music producer Abraham Diaw injured. The American singer, 37, was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, October 26, receiving eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months. His co-defendant, rapper HoodyBaby, whose real name is Omololu Akinlolu, 40, received a four-month suspended sentence, also for 12 months. Both were ordered to pay £1,500 in costs. The case dates back to February 19, 2023 at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, where Brown admitted attacking Diaw with a tequila bottle. CCTV footage showed the producer being struck twice on the head, hit on the shoulder, chased, pushed to the floor and kicked while down.  More Politicians to Join APC Ahead of 2027, Says Gov. Uzodinma


Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has predicted a wave of defections from opposition parties to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 2027 elections approach, citing the party’s growing influence.


Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Saturday after meeting with political stakeholders from Delta State, Uzodinma, who chairs the Progressives Governors Forum, highlighted recent high-profile defections, including that of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other key figures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.


“The tide is moving, and people are joining with no end in sight,” Uzodinma said. “Delta is now almost a one-party state, with our party growing from strength to strength.”


He emphasized that the APC would leverage its internal mechanisms to integrate new and existing members, fostering unity to support the Delta State government and advance the party’s goals. “We are meeting to manage this huge success, ensuring we receive our new leaders and grow as a family for the benefit of our people,” he added.


Uzodinma described the defections as a testament to the APC’s widespread admiration across Nigeria, expressing confidence in the party’s continued expansion ahead of the 2027 polls.
