 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour.  Mother of Slain 16-Year-Old Kaduna Student Demands Justice in Court


The mother of Ahmed Musa, a 16-year-old student from Government Technical College, Kaduna, who was brutally murdered, has vowed to seek justice for her son. Musa's body was found on February 16, 2025, within the school grounds, bound with his hands and legs.


At a recent Magistrates' Court session in Kabala Doki, Kaduna, the grieving mother, accompanied by family and supporters, expressed her anger over the government's inaction, accusing the Kaduna State government of neglect. She stated, “I will not rest until justice is served. It feels like the government and the police are trying to frustrate us.”


She threatened to organize mass protests with women’s groups and urged human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, to intervene.


The case was adjourned to May 27, 2025, as key witnesses, including the police and suspects, failed to attend the hearing.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
