 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East.  Muslim leaders beg President Tinubu to review emergency rule in Rivers


Muslim leaders in Rivers State have appealed to President Bola Tinubu to review the emergency rule in Rivers State and reinstate suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s full authority.


The Muslim leaders emphasized that Governor Fubara has continued to lead the state effectively despite the political crisis.


They made the call during a visit to Governor Fubara at his private residence in Port Harcourt on Monday, as part of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.


The delegation include, Muslim leaders from 20 Islamic groups, including the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.


Speaking on behalf of the Muslim Ummah, Alhaji Nasir Awhelebe Uhor assured Governor Fubara of their unwavering support.


He encouraged the governor to remain resolute, as believers are tested through wealth, power and authority just like it is contained in Islamic teachings.
