 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  North-Central APC Names Akume as Leader, Targets 6 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027


The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has officially adopted Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), as the party’s leader in the zone.


The decision was made during a stakeholders' meeting in Abuja on Thursday, with Forum Chairman Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga emphasizing Akume’s seniority as the highest-ranking APC member in the region.


The Forum commended Akume for fostering unity within the party and reaffirmed its commitment to securing six million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.


It also urged Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia to recognize Akume’s leadership and work towards resolving internal party disputes for a stronger APC presence in the region.
