 Somali PM calls on Somaliland to cut Israel ties, urges reconciliation Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has called on Somaliland’s leadership to cut ties with Israel and to resolve disputes with the federal government through dialogue. Barre said relations among Somalis should be addressed through talks rather than confrontation, in remarks during a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the establishment of North East State. In December 2025, Israel announced mutual recognition with Somaliland, a move strongly rejected by the Somali government as a breach of its sovereignty and territorial integrity and criticised by many countries across the world. “Regarding our brothers in Somaliland, I have nothing new to say.  NPFL Fines Nasarawa United N6m, Banishes Team to Gombe After Fan Attack on Player


The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed a N6 million fine on Nasarawa United for failing to provide adequate security during their matchday 33 clash against Plateau United, which ended in a 3-2 victory for the hosts. The NPFL also ordered the Solid Miners to play their remaining home matches this season at Pantami Stadium in Gombe, following an incident where Plateau United forward Vincent Temitope was attacked by a home supporter.


Nasarawa United has been directed to identify the culprit responsible for causing bodily harm to Temitope and provide evidence of their legal prosecution. Additionally, the club must implement effective matchday security and crowd control measures and submit a plan to the NPFL board before they can return to Lafia City Stadium in future seasons. The Lafia-based club has 48 hours from the date of the notice to appeal the sanctions.
